Negotiation Q

Post by sharrin7 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 1:42 pm

Is scholarship negotiation a one-time thing? As in, do I send a letter telling a school why I want/need more money, they send me something back, and that's that? OR Do I send a school a letter, they send me something back (maybe upping my scholly 5k), and I come back and say that their new offer would still not be financially viable, and then they come back, etc.?

As a side note... is it wise to wait until all your schools have responded (heard from 3, waiting on 4) before you worry about negotiating scholly info? Or is it better to do it sooner while money is still available?

Note: did you use search function, but didn't find anything that satisfied my curiosity...

Saw that.... is there part where he talks about the type of back and forth that typically goes on between school and student? I feel like that post, albeit helpful, details more how to start negotiating aid, not so much what happens after you've initiated the process (or how in depth the process can/should be).
