URM? I've heard of UM rejecting people in the 160s.
Surprisingly no. Had family ties. Applied last cycle in December, got waitlisted... accepted a few months later.

I think you are quite wrong. Certainly both H and Y reserve a certain number for spots for TFA corps, almost all T14s have special TFA scholarships. All the law school benefits was one of the huge reasons that I wanted to do TFA. As the poster above me said, if TFA isn't giving you a big boost then you aren't applying to the right schools.[/quote]

This! Cornell has strong ties to TFA as well.

There's still a chance.

PSA: A 159 will not get you into Harvard or Yale, unless you are in the 1%. ;)

I applied to Columbia on down all the way through GW, so we will see. And H and Y do not reserve a certain number of spots - they don't even need to. There are already a ton of TFA people applying t-14, so many that it's not even really a boost. I don't think i'll get in anywhere that i wouldn't have gotten into otherwise, but we'll see.

i volunteer for the recruitment team. the partnership is just a fee waiver and automatic deferral if you get in to tfa and h or y at the same time. that is all.

IAFG wrote:The TFA trolling going on ITT is egregious and dumb as fuck. It's not a significant boost. The supply of TFA alums who apply to law school is massive. There are plenty of TFAers with strong numbers. Schools don't have to give them an advantage to get several of them each year.
+1.

people are always like "oh they get these automatic scholarships.' false. harvard has several dozen tfa alumni apply each year. giving two of them a scholarship is not a quota by any means.

If they do it's their choice. Unless it has some sort of adverse effect on your application, why should anyone care who reaches where?

It really bothers TLS when people are over-optimistic.

I agree. TLS is serious business. Life sucks. Non-T14s are retards. BigLaw is the only way to be happy. If I don't drive a BMW by the age of 30 you should kill yourself. George W. Bush was the greatest president.

I would like to encourage people applying to law school to get the best score they possibly can instead of settling for some crap number because they read somewhere on the internet that someone they've never met heard through a friend about some guy's brother who was able to get into such-and-such a school with similar stats.
