strangest situation, please help!

In 2010 I took the LSAT twice and scored 5 points below my PTs. I figured I would wait a year and retake, but then I decided to apply to schools that waived my application fees just to see how I would do. I got more acceptances and $$$ than I'd imagined possible and put down a seat deposit in case I didnt find a job by August (i'm a 2011 college graduate). i didn't find a job by august, so i went to the law school. within a day of orientation, i realized that i didn't want to be at that school; i felt i was selling myself short by not having even applied to many schools that were within the range of my numbers. during the week of orientation, i constantly called my mom crying, telling her i wanted to leave. she called the school and told them i needed to leave for personal reasons. the school put me on leave of absence (which is strange, because i only attended orientation and never even attended classes).
now i am in the position of wanting to apply to better schools, but not knowing how to classify or explain my experience at school 1. my addendum could say 1) i had to leave for personal reasons, 2) i left because i knew i could go to a better ranked school and decided taking out extra loans were worth the higher rank, 3)i foolishly assumed that i would only get scholarship money at schools that waived my application fees, but upon going to school x, realized that was not the case, and decided it would be to my professional advantage to wait a year and apply to other schools.
do you have any idea what explanation is best to give? all of the listed ones are true, i just don't know which will be more frowned upon. how much will this hurt my chances of getting into schools within my number range? the rest of my application is pretty stellar. im just a moron for not having enough confidence the first time around and for making a very foolish decision:(
