Go talk to lawyers that got out of law school in the last 3 years and ask them how things are going.

To that end, here's a telling anecdote. Guy I know who graduated from CLS in 2009: Associate at Sullivan and Cromwell. 3L I know at a T50 state university: still hasn't landed a SA position and has taken unpaid work both summers.

No employment is inherently "good." Nobody wants employment for anything but as a means to whatever ends they desire. Take away that prerequisite to get to those ends and nobody would work.

I think what you meant is gainful employment, which is another question altogether.

i think the distinction between good employment and gainful employment is nominal, almost ambiguous.

I would argue that good employment changes based on the priorities of the individual and is internal (The job makes you feel good.); whereas, gainful employment is a net-gain across all priorities.

Take a criminal lawyer that makes ~500,000 a year in net-profit into his pocket and pretty much everything is going on track.

But he is a devout religious person who defends pedos and murderers. He hates his life, and always has. He does not enjoy the job. Never did, but it puts bread on the table. Therefore he stays in his job. Miserable.

This is how I'm thinking of it.

Hopefully IBTL, but it's pathetic which threads mods choose to lock and which ones are allowed to 'thrive'.

I give up, I always try to provide some reasonable response to individuals like the OP and they always take it so harshly

I guess I'm officially turning into the posters who will just respond "Cooley is a good school bro, number 2 in the nation"
