Defer graduation to raise GPA or graduate this semester?

Post by shvogue » Fri Nov 18, 2011 11:42 pm

I will be graduating with a 2.8 GPA and I understand that it is too low for most law school medians. If I defer graduation I will be able to graduate in the summer with a 3.0 GPA. Should I defer or should I just graduate this semester and apply for this cycle? Is it even worth it?

Thank you in advance!

I think getting above 3.0 will help you break a few GPA floors, but it depends on your LSAT and target schools, too. If you can afford it, it's probably a good idea.

Yes. 3.0 is definitely a threshold for many law schools.
