At what point is a school considered a "safety"?? Forum

Alright.... I am getting close to finishing all my apps for my target and reach schools. I've also completed a few that I would consider "safeties" But, I'm starting to wonder what actually constitutes a "safety" school? When you are in the 75th percentile, above the 75th percentile?

At what point do you consider a school a safety??

Any opinions would be very much appreciated : )

IMO, a school where you are above both 75's or above 1 75th and 1 median is a safety. Target = at median or above one/slightly below other. Reach is either at one median and well below the other or well above one median and well below another. Being below both medians = lolReach

Look on LSN, if 90%+ of people with your numbers are admitted then the school is a safety.

If you go too far down the rankings, you might get yield protected so using your LSAT/GPA won't always work.
