The Law School Scam

Post by MTal » Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:57 pm

Law school is a scam which will leave you jobless and 6 figures in debt. The debt will destroy your ability to make life decisions most of us take for granted, like getting married, having children, and owning your own home. The degree itself will NOT help you in any other field outside of law. If you are at at a T6 school or attending some other school at a full ride, then stay. If not, DROP OUT NOW.

What is sad about it? Other than the fact that the damage the scam is inflicting on young people is accelerating.

Why would anyone go to law school right now? The costs are MASSIVE, the entire industry is contracting...if things don't work out (for 90 % the won't), you are stuck with the debt for LIFE. Are you people uninformed, naive, or some mixture of both?

Does listening to what a stranger says on an online forum indicate an informed decision making process?

No, listening to law school deans who have your best financial interests at heart, the glossy brochures of the law school citing 90 % emplyoment, as well as listening to attorneys who are practicing 50 years out does.
