Interview etiquette question

Postby tmcarj » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:27 pm

Hi

I am interviewing at my top choice school tomorrow and I was wondering about the thank you note- Do I send an e-mail thank you, a hand-written thank you note, or a typed thank you letter? Personally I don't really like e-mail for thank you's but I'm not sure about the handwritten note vs. the typed letter.

I know there have been threads before, but I can't find any that answer my question.

THANK YOU for your help.

usually its the thought that counts, so emails should suffice.

yeah, plus email has the additional benefit of immediacy. Good luck with NU.

Email is probably fine as is handwritten. Typed us too formal for this type of a thank you. Timing is important, so if you are planning to mail it, I would drop it in the mail the same day you interview.

I sent handwritten notes to both my interviewers the day of the interview (everyone was in my city, so they probably got the notes the next day.) Email is probably fine though, especially if you're far away.
