Taking February LSAT to get off waitlists

Post by Kess » Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:20 pm

Has anyone does it? Any tips as to how this works?

Obviously, I am not including this possible intention of mine in the apps I am sending in. If I were to sign up, would I have to notify the schools myself?

I've seen posts on this sight of people who did this successfully. But I believe they had to notify the schools themselves after the score, and usually the increase was quite substantial. By February classes are probably 98% filled up.

Well I am applying now with my current score, but my main concern is can I cause any harm by retaking it in February while sending apps in that dont give any indication of this happening?

It's quite possible that you could decide next month to take the LSAT, so I can't imagine not disclosing would hurt you. Have you already signed up, though? I doubt schools would check, but it might be worth waiting to sign up if you haven't yet already.

Next month is definitely not happening. If I do decide to retake, it will be in February and I'm not registering quite yet.

As for my apps, I should be ready to submit within the week.
