Soliciting fee waivers Forum

Could anyone tell me if any of these schools will grant a fee waiver by asking, or at least consider it? Or do they send them out strictly on their own terms? Help about any of the following schools would be appreciated:

Boston College
Vanderbilt
Texas
Northwestern
Penn
Michigan
UVA
University of Chicago
WUSTL

And FYI I already applied for the fee waiver through LSAC but for some reason they deemed me not poor enough to qualify, so that potential avenue is closed.

Hello,

I am interested in applying to [SCHOOL] and am curious if merit-based application fee waivers are offered. If so, I would like to know if I qualify for one.

My information is:

LSDAS GPA: XXX

LSAT SCORE: XXX

LSAC ACCOUNT NUMBER: XXX

Fill that out and send it to every school you would like a waiver from. You get zero percent of the things you don't ask for. On that list, only Northwestern has sent me an unsolicited fee waiver thus far. I hope this helps.

From the ones you mentioned I asked and received:
Michigan
UVA
WUSTL

Texas only gives out need-based

WUSTL responded with a yes to me 2 hours after I e-mailed them and my numbers aren't great (3.44 , 167)
Just e-mail them all

Michigan, Vandy, and UVA gave me solicited waivers. UVA's email said that they would give waivers to anyone "for whom the fee poses a financial hardship or would otherwise prevent them from applying." I used the boilerplate email given above, but you may add something about the burden of app fees.
