Guy with 3.4/166

Post by the_gregster12 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 11:41 am

Just took the October test and scored a 166. My initial plan was to ED to Texas, but I'm now wavering since my LSAT was a few points lower from what I was expecting. I should also add that a December test will be my third time taking the test - I scored a 165 my first time.

Should I take the test in December to earn these few extra points? Apply now and pray? Or should I just spend the year gaining experience to have better softs?

Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah with those stats you will have a tough time at Texas. I definitely would retake in December. I got a 165 on the October LSAT, but you could definitely bump that up a few points in December. I know for some schools the ED deadline is Dec 15. I know you won't have your scores by then, but you will have an idea of how you did on the test. I'm kind of in the same boat, but I want get into George Mason. I have a 165/3.2 which should get me into Mason, but I think if I bump the score up like 5 points, I have a shot at Georgetown.

Similar numbers here. Good luck in your decision. I think we're sitting a little too low for T-14. We're kind of cream of the crop for good applicants. Not really great applicants. I'm not retaking. I'm sick of the LSAT. Good luck in your decision. I'm sure you'll improve if you make your mind up to do so.

What are you PTing at under strict conditions? If it's above 170, I'd give it another whirl. If not, I'd just accept that it may be your best score and get your apps in. I was constantly PTing at 170-172, and I ended up with a 165 on test day. I decided not to retake. I'm sure I could have done a little better, but I think losing a few points between PTs and test day is somewhat normal.

Anyway, I'm almost a numbers twin. I got a scholarship to a T1 in a secondary market with $$ (best school in this region). That, along with in-state tuition and some other financing means I'm going to escape debt-free.

Good luck.

Hey, what are the best schools that you think we could snag a significant, if not full ride at? I don't want to waste applications on schools that I will get zero money at. People who go to school at sticker seem a little crazy to me.
