Honor's Program?

Postby bernaldiaz » Wed Oct 26, 2011 5:25 pm

I have a quick question. How good of a soft do you all think adcoms perceive doing the honors route/ writing a thesis is? I imagine it wouldn't make all that much of a difference as its pretty common. However, given how it is almost expected of top students and as a high GPA candidate (almost 4.0) do you think it would look suspect if I didn't do it? The thing is I really don't want to write a 50-80 page paper my senior year (the requirements at my uni), and the advice I have heard is that unless you are passionate about writing a thesis you shouldn't do it.

So, is it a good enough soft that I should do it? Would it look bad if I don't?
