Parent's Income?

Post by Marie34 » Tue Oct 25, 2011 11:01 am

Is there any advantage/drawback to putting down parent's annual income in the few applications that ask for it?

What schools ask for this?

I know Vandy asks for an estimate of what they can contribute to law school, but I've never heard of income.

Either way, just be honest. If you don't know, say so.

I know for sure UCLA is asking for it, and I can't remember on the top of my head, but I know a few others on my list asked for it too. They're not required, they're optional that's why I didn't know if they're asking for a specific reason.

Probably a couple of reasons - diversity of economic background and ability to pay at sticker come to mind. If your parents are poor you should definitely put it. Otherwise it probably won't have much of a bearing on your application.
