Not sure if anybody has the answer, but figured I'd ask: What do schools (T14) think about people they admit, but who don't enroll, applying again the following year? Do they hold it against you?
I am planning to apply now, but there are some work considerations over the next 6-10 months that might make it better to actually enroll in Fall of 2013 instead of 2012. Since I'm not sure what's going to happen, I don't really want to completely hold off until next year to apply, but I also don't want to lessen my chances by getting in now, having to say no and then applying again next year. Asking for a deferral aside, is there a general stance by schools about this? Or has anyone been in a similar position?

There's no general stance, as far as I know. Anyone from the school would say the obvious: well, we liked you enough once, but no guarantees. Just get the deferral.
