Which applications are free???

Post by Susan_Walid » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:39 am

Can someone tell me which applications are free? I talked to a co-worker today and she told me some are. For example, she told me Cincinnati waives the fee for ED applicants. Would be nice to apply to my safety schools for free :) George Mason too?

Most Chicago area schools [DePaul, Loyola, Chicago Kent, JMLS]. Michigan State has sent me emails with a free waiver. That's all I know of so far. Go on your schools' websites and see what they say. With the shrinking applicant pool, there are a lot more schools offering free applications than even last year.

UIUIC = U of Illinois

The number of people taking the June LSAT this year was down almost 20%.

I know some schools waive the fee for online apps. I have one of those. If it's free and you have time, might as well apply. At the very least, you can supply more statistical info for LSN and help future applicants.

Keep in mind that while the school's app might be free, the CAS report is not. You have to pay LSAC $16 for every application. So if you have no intention of attending a school, you're still wasting $16, even if the app is "free."
