2.38 or 2.58 LSAC GPA?

Post by Donnis » Tue Aug 30, 2011 9:00 pm

Recently sent in my transcripts from all my schools

Degree (Summary) GPA: 2.38
Cumulative GPA: 2.58

are the results.

Which is the one law schools go by? I assume it is the summary, not cumulative.

Are you positive?? What is the point of reporting the "summary" GPA?

Isn't that why I paid LSAC for? To summarize my transcripts into one GPA? So wouldn't it be the summarized 2.38?

I HOPE it is the cumulative but for some reason I have a feeling it is the summarized 2.38.

I think you're the one being confusing here. Which number did you send in to the LSAC, and which number did they send back at you? The one they sent back at you is what law schools look at.

They didn't send me an email or anything yet. I was checking my account and noticed all 4 of transcripts were finally sent in for all 4 undergrad schools I attended. 3 of them were just summer/winter courses.

After reading the key I think it may be the cumulative like a previous poster stated.

This is what the bottom of my report says:

"Undergraduate Summary
Degree (Summary) GPA: 2.38
Degree Semester Hours: 112.0
Cumulative GPA: 2.58
Cumulative Semester Hours: 133.0"

I'm aware but I'm striving for highest LSAT score possible. Obviously not trying for T1 and probably not even T2. That's not the point though, I am simply trying to figure out which GPA law schools look at.

No need to be dick bro. You don't know what his LSAT is. A 2.58/178 will still stomp a 3.7/140
