would foreigners applying for JD be distinguished by their?

Post by briefcandle » Sun Aug 21, 2011 5:15 pm

Hi everyone

I am a Chinese student currently studying in Ohio state university for my bachelor degree. I've been sifting information about Law school admission and found out that the most crucial factors determining admission opportunities are GPA and LSAT score. But are they for USA citizen at most? My GPA is about 3.91 in Engineering, and my lsat wouldn't be lower than 165, which may appear to be pretty good for American applicants.

But I am not so sure whether foreigners applying for JD would be distinguished by their citizenship.

I would appreciate it if someone can give me information about it.

Once you send in your transcripts to LSAC, LSAC will translate your OSU grades into what's called an LSDAS GPA. And yes, LSDAS GPA and LSAT are by far the most important factors in law school admissions.

You will not be at a significant advantage or disadvantage relative to an American with similar numbers.
