I would try to get primarily academic LORs. Work ones have to be pretty outstanding, especially for someone with <1 year of WE.
Generally accepted opinion on TLS is that a December LSAT puts you at a disadvantage. Have you considered taking it in October?

Not enough of one to be appreciable. Your application still won't be considered complete until they receive that score. So you won't get to 'jump ahead' once scores are released. All it will do is have your application be one of the first with December scores to be considered, which would also happen if you just submit it after scores come out. Since, you know, you'll be obsessively refreshing GMail anyway waiting for your score.
