No word on the median.... NYU, similar to Penn, seems to like posting only 25/75 ranges...

Actually, it looks like NYU's LSAT 25% is +1 from last year.

I don't know about "more and more." The Midwestern Schools between 18 and 25 have been median-whoring for quite some time now. WUSTL, Illinois, Minnesota, and Indiana have been shameless through their giving scholarships to anyone with an LSAT above median. Not that I disagree with the practice, of course. It has benefited me significantly personally.

It looks, however, like WUSTL is pulling away. Minnesota's stuck at 167 and Illinois is stuck in fraud land. Indiana, on the other hand...$120K scholarships to anyone with a 166+? If it weren't for the fact that they place like a T2 school, that would be an insane deal. Or if you want to work in Indiana, that's an insane deal no matter what.

Yeah, I agree. WUSTL places well enough that the other T25s pale a bit. Though the whole rankings scheme seems screwed up. I mean Wisco outplaces MN now.

But yes I love the big scholly for LSAT above median deal. I'll probably be at UMN next fall if the typical LSN thing works out for me.

Wisconsin: http://www.law.wisc.edu/prospective/stats.html

LSAT median was steady at 163.
GPA median was up .04 to 3.67.
Class size was trimmed by just 4 seats; not significant.
Looks like one thing they did to preserve medians was take more people from out of state; the in-state percentage declined from 62% to 57%.

Things that schools are doing to preserve medians in an environment of reduced applications:

- shrinking the incoming class;
- shrinking part-time programs since their selectivity is usually lower;
- throwing around scholarship money;
- working harder to woo high-scoring admittees;
- accepting fewer low scorers for diversity's sake;
- accepting more out-of-staters (state schools only).

Subject: Student Profile Data

Dear Students, Faculty Members, and Staff:

On Friday, September 9, I informed you that the University had learned that data concerning the incoming class of 2014 disseminated by the College of Law might be inaccurate and that an inquiry into the facts had been initiated. I write to update you on the status of this matter.

The accurate, independently verified data for the Class of 2014's Law School Admission Test (LSAT) scores and grade point averages (GPA) are as follows: median LSAT, 163; median GPA, 3.70. Information originally disseminated by the College of Law inaccurately listed the median LSAT score as 168 and the median GPA as 3.81.

An inquiry continues and the College is cooperating fully. As soon as this review is complete, we will share the results and report on the findings and recommendations. Links to the University of Illinois' press release and updated information on the College of Law's website can be found below.

Sincerely,

Bruce

That's insane for Illinois. Makes me wonder how many other schools are fudging their numbers.

I thought it was 166/167. Though now I wouldn't be surprised if they've been lying for quite some time.

Last year's reported UIUC median was 167. See the ABA data.

If the median did in fact drop to 163 at UIUC why does the LSN chart seem to indicate a much higher median. It looks like only one non URM with a sub 3.8 GPA and an LSAT less than or equal to 163 got in? Bizarre.

That's what I don't understand. Unless UIUC really dropped the ball on scholarships (which... no, they've been doing the exact opposite...) I don't see how it could be that low in actuality.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
