Would this be calculated by LSAC as an F grade?

Post by CCNhopeful » Tue Jul 26, 2011 4:49 pm

I opted for Pass/No Credit option for an anthropology course a few years ago and ended up with a grade of No Credit (I failed the course). My academic report DOES reflect the 3 credits attempted (13 attempted for the semester; 10 earned). Can someone please clarify if this would be counted as an F (0.00) in my LSDAS GPA?

According to my college website:
P/NC INFORMATION
The P/NC option allows students to take a course for which they will either receive a “passing” grade (P) or “no credit” (NC) instead of a failing grade.

Thanks!

It does. A No Pass in a Pass/No Pass class reflects as a failing grade. However, even a Pass in a Pass/No Pass course does not count towards your LSAC GPA.

To add something somewhat substantive to this thread, the only grades I personally know of that LSAC does not count as part of your GPA are Withdraws (non-punitive) and passes.

Dont worry, if the rest of your transcript is ok, clear it up with an addendum

if not.... :|

He should probably switch to engineering so he can get a 4.33.
