I know how you feel. I've gotten waivers from some top schools (UVA, Columbia, NW), but I don't really have any interest in them. Meanwhile, the ones I'm interested in (Michigan, Georgetown, Berkeley) I haven't gotten anything from. Ah well...

You should email Michigan asking for one. I did it and they gave me. (lsat 168)

I believe a few people have said their Columbia and NYU waivers were hidden. Did you check?
I checked for Columbia but didn't for NYU. I'll likely complete both of their apps within the next few days, so I'm hoping one from Columbia appears and that NYU's is hidden.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the reported medians are for attending students, not admitted students (though it could help make them look more "selective" to have a larger pool and deny more people).

Columbia sent me a email for a fee waiver yesterday. It said it was based on my LSAT score.. which confuses me because my numbers are well below their medians. 167/3.4 .

I guess they just want to up that YP!

That would be correct.

Actually it would be the opposite. The medians for ADMITTED students would be higher than ATTENDING students, unless we're talking about Yale.

Say we're talking about Columbia. They would admit all the people with 4.0/180, but I would have to think most of them would choose HYS instead. That means they can't count these ADMITTED 4.0/180s in their median calculations.

:? :?: Nobody said anything about medians of admitted vs attending students, I only said that reported medians are for attending students only, which JoeMo confirmed.

I know I know, I was just making a random observation. Sorry :)

Everything you said was true.

I have no idea what you're saying. What we're saying was in response to Westinghouse that said that they assume that they got a waiver because their scores were above median so that then the school could turn around and YP. That being said... Cornelius said his assumption was flawed in that the school wouldn't be able to count his numbers toward the median unless he was admitted.

I hope this clears up your confusion.

So far I've gotten: Minnesota, UCLA, Northwestern, Duke (PT), Wake Forest, Georgetown, UVA

I didn't get UT, but I'm from Texas. Would they look at that and care?
