Still have a chance

Post by Deuce85 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 9:09 pm

Hello all. I took the lsat in february of 2010. I recieved a score of 140. I didnt look at a lsat question until 4 weeks before he tet. It is my fault i did not prepare correctly. I took four practice test and highest score was a 154 . The night before the test something personal happened to me which affected my score. I should have canceled my score but didnt. I had a feeling that i didnt do as bad as i thought i did. My quetion to you all is do you think i still have a chance to get in a decent law school if i can start studying now and pull out like a 160 on the october lsat. I really would like to go to LSU law school or Loyola law school in new orleans, but really Lsu. Please let me know what you think or some study advice. Thanks

In general law schools look at only your highest score. They won't give a rat's ass about your 140 assuming you do well enough on another LSAT.

You still have a chance. Refer to the LSAT prep forum

These are all credited responses, but you should not assume you can just get a 160 no big deal. The odds are highly against you getting a 160 on a real test in your lifetime, having already gotten a 140 after studying. I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm just stating reality, and what is true >90% of the time. If you're part of the minority who will turn that into a 160 instead of saying I'm a jerk, you'll light a fork under your ass.

I understand what you are saying, but the event that i went through the night before was fresh on my mind. Also i do not think a 140 was a true representation of my knowledge of the material because the score of my first practice test was a 144.

Get busy with your studying. If you put in the hours you will see improvement. If law school is something you really want then earn a 160+, it isn't going to be given to you
