Sociology vs. Media Studies (Mass Comm)

Postby jonjung710 » Thu May 19, 2011 4:05 am

I was wondering if there was a significant difference between sociology and media studies (mass comm) when it comes to admissions? Either choice would obviously not be as well reputed as hard sciences, but do you think one would be preferred over the other? I'm asking because I am currently double-majoring in these two, but very possibly may have to drop one of them...

There will be seriously no difference for the purposes of LS admissions. I doubt that anyone here will tell you differently. You will probably now get advice on choosing one vs. the other on the basis of other things, which is good b/c you should really reconsider going to LS (not like "you" in particular; everyone).

Does not matter. The one adcomms will like most is the one in which you can get the highest GPA.
