I know it's still early, but I'm trying to figure out when I should start working on my applications for the Fall 2012 cycle. I've already taken my LSATs, so that's out of the way. It seems to me that for the 2011 cycle, the earliest you could apply to the schools I'm looking at (Penn, Georgetown, GW, NYU) was around October 1st. Is this pretty standard? And if so, when's the earliest you can access the application to begin working on it? I really want to be able to submit all of my applications on the very first day they're accepted, if that's possible.

Work on perfecting your personal statement, getting your letters of recommendation requested and your resume prepared. These are the things that take the most time. If you'll be submitting a diversity statement or leadership statement, prepare those. Also, you may need a statement regarding traffic tickets, etc so collect that information.

If you have all this ready to go by September/October you'll be good to go when the application release. And no, you cannot view/enter info into the apps until the day they release.

In regards to traffic tickets, does anyone know if it's solely speeding tickets or more serious things like that? What about 35 dollar parking tickets? I heard, although I'm not sure, that anything under $100 you don't need to report.
