I'm not convinced it's true getting a letter from an adjunct is a bad thing. A lot of schools say they just want someone who *knows* you academically, and not some person you only had brief contact with. If that person is an adjunct, so be it! (I'm definitely getting a rec from a lecturer who is a practicing attorney. I did well in the class, so...whatever!) Did you take a class with the adjunct and do well? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

Recs from adjunct profs are fine if they know you well.
