I hope this works out.

She must have really piled on the upper level Anthropologies in that single year.

This topic is hilarious, but on a serious note, I actually do feel pretty bad for a friend of mine from undergrad who ended up going to NYLS at sticker. She's taking out somewhere around 200k debt to cover tuition plus cost of living in Manhattan (at the 'dorms' of NYLS). No realistic plan regarding employment or debt repayment coming out of law school. I probably should have tried to dissuade her, but fuck, when someone is dead set on 'being a lawyer' it's their prerogative to heavily burden (financially cripple) themselves, I suppose.

I didn't really read the whole thread but if she can bring up her score just a few points it looks like she will have a pretty good chance for the Puerto Rico school. Even if she brings it up all the way to a 150 though, it's still not looking great for Cooley.

Pray she can land a PD job to take advantage of IBR

On a related note (PD), she was toying with the idea of being a cop. She doesn't want to do the whole police academy thing. But I think, minus the requisite professionalism, she has a useful cache of aggression.

Haha, I found out yesterday that she's been calling up Cooley and Hamline and demanding they pay her back the application fees. I didn't even argue this time, it's getting really lame. She was like, "Why the fuck should I pay NOT to go to school?! That's fuckin cruel and unusual, bitch!"

I'd expect nothing else here on TLS.

Anyway, UPDATE: She was fired from Kmart. She was accused of eating someone's lunch in the break-room. She claims that everyone used to steal her Minute Maid, so she thought no rules apply. The store manager confronted her, she got testy, and he Trumped her. Interestingly, she might actually be getting a job at a small personal injury firm. She speaks Spanish, so that's a plus. She wants me to review her resume tonight.

Yes...please 'help' her. There is no way that she needs to be anywhere near someone seeking legal advice. Lulzy as it may be, just no...

Ambulance chasing stories could be a solid addition to her repertoire, though.

This is so funny. Verity is a good friend for sticking with this girl so long. I realize that I don't know any dumb people - at least not at this level. I think posting about her is good as it allows Verity to vent and we can be entertained.

Note: as this girl has no real chance of getting into law school, that problem is averted. Maybe you should steer her towards the medical field? Better job security.

Just please tell me she isn't $150,000 in debt from undergrad?

I was a bit tired last night, but here we go.....!

First, I'm just going to preface this with the fact that her resume was actually hand-written. That's right. In cursive. Now, she doesn't have a real computer (she has one of those old Apple Macintosh things from the early 90s), so I'm not even gonna dispute it. But wow.

Also, it was done on construction paper. And it was scented. With a bottle of JLo Glow that she might have stolen from Kmart. I didn't even have to ask about this. When she proposed it to me, she was like "yo, I'm the real fuckin' Elle Woods!"

Now, the data. For the sake of illustration, I'll just show what it looked like without much explanation.

Name: [her name]
Age: 25
Height: 5,4
Weight: N/A

I went to [name of college] and I graduated.
I majored in anthropology.
Ask for grades.

Currently working at Kmart. I help the manager and the cashiers and the rest of the floor people.
References: [Verity]
Thanks!

I'm not even going into the spelling mistakes, lack of critical data, or the explosive conversation we had afterwards. I'll save some of that for later.
