Questions about deferring admission....

Post by apple1234 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:51 pm

2 questions, and as a disclaimer this is an either/or scenario (I don't plan on doing both):

If accepted off the waitlist, can I defer admission to the following year?

If you defer admission to the following year, can you then still apply to additional schools for the following cycle?

Thanks! :D

Ask the school. Each one's policy on deferrals is likely different.

It's usually no to both. The purpose of letting people in off the waitlist is to fill gaps in the incoming class, and deferring matriculation at one school while you apply to others is like keeping one OK-looking dame on the back burner while you date around and try to find someone hotter.
