ESSAY EXAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applicable Law
Questions on the Florida Bar Examination should be answered in accordance with
applicable law in force at the time of examination. Questions on Part A are designed to
test your knowledge of both general law and Florida law. When Florida law varies from
general law, the question should be answered in accordance with Florida law.
Acceptable Essay Answer
• Analysis of the Problem - The answer should demonstrate your ability to analyze the
question and correctly identify the issues of law presented. The answer should
demonstrate your ability to articulate, classify and answer the problem presented. A
broad general statement of law indicates an inability to single out a legal issue and
apply the law to its solution.
• Knowledge of the Law - The answer should demonstrate your knowledge of legal
rules and principles and your ability to state them accurately on the examination as
they relate to the issue presented by the question. The legal principles and rules
governing the issues presented by the question should be stated concisely and
succinctly without undue elaboration.
• Application and Reasoning - The answer should demonstrate your capacity to
reason logically by applying the appropriate rule or principle of law to the facts of the
question as a step in reaching a conclusion. This involves making a correct
preliminary determination as to which of the facts given in the question are legally
important and which, if any, are legally irrelevant insofar as the applicable rule or
principle is concerned. The line of reasoning adopted by you should be clear and
consistent, without gaps or digressions.

It's probably been said before but:
UF>FSU>UM>Stetson (you might as well retake and either get into a. Better schools or b. Those four).

For example, I wasn't getting enough scholarship to justify Stetson over UF/FSU so I was going to retake. Luckily, I heard back from Emory and they gave me a decent enough scholarship. However, if that isn't the case, I most certainy would have, as I said, retaken the test to get into either UF or FSU.

That looks like the cliffnotes version of a "how to write a law school exam" book. I am going to have to print that out for reference.

haha. actually, I haven't heard back from UF or FSU. then again, if you got in to UF, FSU, and Emory...which would you pick? I'd probably withdraw either way unless they gave me a full scholarship or close to it.

~$15k v. ~$39k
Everytime I pull out my wallet or checkbook at FIU = the price of just tuition at UM. Considering the economy and UM's ranking that isn't THAT great, what would be the best choice.

I was pondering the same thing. I think Im going to chose FIU... FIU is ranked 132 but it is so much cheaper and its a newer school thats been climbing the ranks quickly.

If I get into FSU or UF I will chose them instead.

You should focus on keeping your debt low. However, if you want to work in Miami, this is a no brainer.

Neither is worth a ton of debt.

Band 2 (attend only if on a 1/2 scholarship or greater)
Miami or Stetson

Miami does well, in Miami. A ridiculous share of the Miami market is taken by UMiami grads. That said, it doesnt play much outside the city.

My God, I just reread this thread and I am shocked at the stupidity in it. Either go to UF, FSU, or Stetson/Miami at a substantial scholarship and don't plan on leaving Florida. There really isn't much else to it.
