Deferred at SMU: should i write them a LOCI?

Postby balls » Tue Mar 01, 2011 7:07 pm

Received a letter saying they are deferring making a decision on my file until the next round.

I am certainly interested in SMU: would it make sense to shoot them an email or write them a letter?

thanks for the advice!

Certainly couldn't hurt. You might want to focus on the region and the school itself in your LOCI, rather than just saying you're not withdrawing your app. I think they actually give a rip about the Why SMU? essay from the original app, so play up any ties to the Metroplex you may have or specific reasons you want to attend SMU. Good luck
