Rescinded Admission?
Has anyone heard of someone being rescinded admission for their GPA dropping their final semester?

It's very rare, but I believe it isn't out of the realm of possibility.
I'd say if you have a 0.5 drop you should be worried.

Your overall GPA dropped .5 points? Are you sure you are graduating?

Do you really mean .5 or .05?

Do you mean overall or a single semester. I had a .5 drop in my last single semester and that has me worried, but my overall GPA was virtually unaffected.

If just the semester, no biggie. (assuming that overall gpa did not drop more than .2)

Don't send your transcript to LSAC. Just send it directly to the school near the deadline. Problem solved.

LSAC has no way to track down every person in their system who actually matriculated so they don't follow up for transcripts. Your law school needs a transcript for their records to verify you graduated. These are two separate purposes and they never need to meet. I sent my transcript to LSAC in October the year I applied and they never saw any of my senior year grades. I'm sure it's similar for thousands of applicants across the country.

Re: Rescinded Admission?
this is in fact the reason that law schools require you to send a final transcript directly to their office and NOT through LSAC, because they know people will usually only send transcripts to LSAC if their UGPA increasedjoeshmo39 wrote:LSAC has no way to track down every person in their system who actually matriculated so they don't follow up for transcripts. No worries you are in.
The semester is still early. You take a 0 on multiple exams?

A 0.5 drop in the semester is meaningless. What matters is how much your overall GPA is going to drop.

Then unless it is dropping you from above to below a school's median it isn't something to worry about.FiveSermon wrote:Maybe .05bk187 wrote:A 0.5 drop in the semester is meaningless. What matters is how much your overall GPA is going to drop.

I have been told this explicitly by Admissions at two different schools and by students who have done the same. I personally know a guy who was accepted to HLS (and currently attending) with a 3.98 that would have dropped to a 3.77x had he submitted his final grades, which he did not.
