Obviously not all of you will end up like this, but definitely more than most here would care to admit.

+1. And at around median. And in New York. And at what appears to be close to full cost.

Regardless of the posters school rank, this is a very sad situation which the poster did not deserve to have happen to them.

Crackheads, alcoholics, domestic violence abusers, sure. But not someone who, for admittedly misguided reasons attempted to better themselves.

I disagree. Doesn't he have a law degree? Didn't he pass the bar? And yet you're implying he simply too ignant to figure out how to improve his $8.50 per hour cashflow. Gimme a break.

Agreed, but there's a pretty big difference between "look at this TTT grad's shitty situation" and "many of you are going to end up like this guy." It seems to me that many (most?) of the regulars on TLS are gunning for (or are already attending) a T14.

is it just me or does this look a little suspicious.

Sure, I get it, the legal market sucks cow testicles right now, but I can't help but feel this is some major trolling tactic to scare away future generations of lawyers.

Just sayin

Ok genius, please tell me what wonderful opportunities await a 29 year old with a worthless liberal arts degree and a TTT J.D., with a dead father and a mom on SSI to boot, that will earn him more than 8.50 working retail in a shitty economy?

Bottom half of all but the T3 are effectively shut out of biglaw. That is the only job (apart from IBR doing PI, which is even MORE competitive than biglaw) which will allow grads to make a dent in their loans. The alternatives are shitlaw (pays 35-60k for 60 hour weeks) or getting out of the legal profession entirely.
