I'm not sure why everyone is so up in arms over this. Females have a significant advantage in hard sciences and MBA admissions because so few women apply to those things. This doesn't seem to be the case with law school, but it's not a ridiculous question.

Re: Is it easier for Women or Men to get into law school?
It is actually true that the mean score for female applicants is almost always lower by 1 point and for a few schools it is lower by 3+ points
See page 9 here:
http://www.lsac.org/LsacResources/Resea ... -10-01.pdf
This is slightly counterbalanced by higher UGPAs for female applicants shown on page 10. Generally there is a higher mean score with a large standard deviation for male LSAT takers, so there are proportionally fewer females in the highest LSAT scores.

But this doesn't address the question of whether or not it is "easier" for a woman to get into LS than a man, if everything else is identical. It just says female applicants in this pool have lower median LSAT scores.bdubs wrote:It is actually true that the mean score for female applicants is almost always lower by 1 point and for a few schools it is lower by 3+ points

In fact, this helps explain why there are fewer women than men in the schools examined (because, if all were equal, naturally there would be more higher-scoring students admitted, thus more men.)

"tough guy" it sounds to me like you're the childish one here! lmao!!!!
Besides, it seems to me that quite a few of the posters here seem to agree with me that I asked a decent question hose-brain (yes, I know, I just stooped to your "mature" level)

that being said, i dont think it was a ridiculous question for the same reason as what someone said earlier about MBA and engineering schools, etc., though i certainly dont know the OP's intentions in asking it.

Re: Is it easier for Women or Men to get into law school?
My reason for posting this question is in order to get a better understanding of my chances at certain law schools. When I go to a site like law schoo lnumbers, and I see that a female student has the same lsat score as me, I would like to know if I can compare chances with hers. I hope this sheds some light on those of you who are wondering what my intentions of posting this thread were.

::PM edited out to GATORTIM from LAWFREAK::
Glad you posted this. This person harassed me in a PM, too.
I wrote back-- Whoa. Someone should probably chill and not get so personally offended by a half-ass joking comment. I hope you have a more positive day.
How about the OP should not be so crazy and PM to harass people.

A. An efficient means of hitting on women, doing it 2 at a time.
B. An inefficient way of hitting on women because it instantly shatters the illusion that they're the only chick you ever hit on. Thereby you are guaranteeing your rejection by both.
C. 5th base
