Fax Recommendation Letters to LSAC
Can Recommendation Letters be faxed to LSAC? Could somebody provide a link or the FAX number?
Is Faxing a good idea? This might make it process much faster. Thanks.

Re: Fax Recommendation Letters to LSAC
Don't know the fax number, but here's some hope:
My recommendor mailed the letter on Friday and LSAC processed it today. Couldn't have gotten there earlier than Tuesday from Texas, so I htink they're processing those fast right now. Fax will obviously be fastest, tho.

Call LSAC for the number. I don't know how hard it is to get it out of them (since they seem not to be in favor of people doing it in the FAQ), but I have heard of many cases where faxing not only works, but is extraordinarily fast (processed and available like same day).

I faxed mine. I can't remember the fax number, they don't provide it on the website. Just google LSAC fax number and it'll pop up. They won't provide it to you. The people on the phone have been a$$e$ but when I fax my letters they added it within a few hours to my account.

Re: Fax Recommendation Letters to LSAC
I had a professor fax mine on Tuesday at about 8 PM after she had forgotten about it for the last month. It was up on LSAC's website the next day at around 1 PM in the afternoon, got confirmation email (finally) today. So yeah, you should definitely do it, it's way faster. My other letter took about 2 weeks to process and that was back in December.
The number is 215-504-1444. Might be busy, but keep trying, it's definitely the right number.

Re: Fax Recommendation Letters to LSAC
I had my one of my recommenders fax his letter multiple times, and it never went through. I am assuming it was an old fax machine or something that made the print illegible. However, when I called LSAC to ask, they said that there was absolutely no way the letter could be processed in under 5 business days (despite evidence on TLS). I did end up getting it to go through, but I had to mail it three times...

Don't know if this is universal, but to save time, you could have the recommendar mail the letter directly or send it yourself in a signed and sealed envelope. This is per two schools that I just called about sending additional letters to supplement my already complete applications.

Anyone know how long transcripts are taking to process right now? Mine was overnighted from school on Tuesday. It's the missing link before I can submit

Re: Fax Recommendation Letters to LSAC
I called LSAC today and they told me the last for digits were 1448, not 1444...
Edit: just did a search for this and 1444 should be right. I'm pretty sure I'm not hard of hearing so maybe the rep just has a spotty memory?

Call again and ask again if you think the associate was wrong. They could both be right.
You could also do reverse lookups of both numbers. If they're both LSAC, fax to both. Worst case scenario they receive two copies.

Yeah, everyone here is right. Just called LSAC again and they gave me the -1444 number this time. Weird...BTW, (sorry to hijack thread with another question), but do they notify you or your recommender if the fax doesn't go through/isn't clear? Or do you just wait for a while and see that it doesn't show up on your account?

After a couple days of not showing up I called them and was told there was an issue with one of my letters. Neither the writer nor I were notified. So it is in your best interest to contact them if it takes more than 2-3 days just to make sure.
