On most of my law school applications (e.g. Penn), they require a contact phone number. However, my phone number has a 1 more digit than U.S. phone numbers, and it doesn't fit in the space provided. What should I do?

I gave my mom's phone number at my permanent place of residence. Obviously, you won't be able to speak to them, but maybe if someone at home answers, they can pass along your foreign number or just take a message for you.
