Application question - Abbreviating: Yes or No Forum

What did you do when you ran out of room on LSAC's .pdf application?

For example: I went to high school in Pembroke Pines, FL, but sometimes "Pembroke Pines, FL" is too long for the space provided. Would you type "Pembroke Pines, FL" or "P. Pines, FL"? I've also ran into the same scenario with my undergraduate university, so I've been putting "Uni." instead of "University."

Am I correct that anything outside the space provided is illegible?

Correct! Anything outside of the space provided will not be seen.
I think abbreviating is acceptable as long as its understandable. For example Uni is understood (I abbreviated my university to unc-chapel hill, they get the school code from lsac so no worries) but P. Pines not so much. I only know it because I lived there & attended Pembroke Pines Elementary. So just use discretion depending on the school to which you're applying.

Does it fit with no spaces? Or just Pembroke Pines?

try Pembrook Pines. If not try Pmbrk Pines or something
If its a box form, it should have spaces for name, city, state or even name and state. Its not a huge deal, ( not nearly as important as undergrad and grad schools), so dont worry too much.
