I would change the first sentence; adcomms know the purpose of an addendum. But I do think it is a good idea to write an addendum in your case. You might want to add that you realize your actions were a mistake and that your academic performance was much better in college, etc. It just doesn't sound too great that you were given the chance to take 4 college classes and decided not to show up. I realize you were in high school and maybe there is more to this story, but I'm just trying to tell you what I think an adcomm might think. I'd be interested to hear others weigh in.
