Does anyone feel bad that they might have to go to law school with this guy?

eh. i mean it's a dangerous question but it get it--- in the throng of waiting anxiously for admissions decisions, it can be frustrating to see someone get in with numbers lower than yours, particularly if you've worked hard for those numbers.mdallavis wrote:Does anyone feel bad that they might have to go to law school with this guy?

I'm not trying to be racist. I'm asking a serious question. If I was a URM and saw that several people above me with better LSATs and GPAs were all getting denied, and the only people getting accepted in my range were URMs, it would make me feel undeserving. But maybe that is just me.

Regardless of the reasoning behind it, he's just pissing in the wind, so why even bother bringing it up? The way the initial post was phrased was not inviting intelligent conversation.

You know the guy you're referring to that took your place? That was me.dustinv wrote:that you have a better chance of getting into law schools solely because of your race? there isn't any way to discuss it without pissing in the wind. Everyone shrieks and hides and tries to act like it doesn't tick them off when they think about it from time to time.mdallavis wrote:Regardless of the reasoning behind it, he's just pissing in the wind, so why even bother bringing it up? Would you want to get hired at a job because a business was trying to meet their minority "quota" or because they felt you were the most qualified applicant?

in before the calvary comes. Its a loaded question, one of those that you think about asking, but know better than to ask aloud. Or if you are going to ask it, it needs to be worded just right.
You get hired because the firm or company thinks your the best fit. No other reasoning or thinking needs to be done.

Wait - so I'm getting a job? Yes. Hell yes I will take that job. And I won't think a damn thing about it.dustinv wrote:there isn't any way to discuss it without pissing in the wind.
