Emails from Law School Deans
Anyone respond to emails from deans encouraging you to apply? I know they are form emails but they obviously don't send them out to everyone. Do you think a quick thank you would make a difference in the admissions process?

Engage them in conversation. Ask them how their day is, if they need a soda or possibly a foot massage.

Re: Emails from Law School Deans
I engaged in an email conversation with one last cycle. He was pretty welcoming, encouraged me to apply, answered my questions. I then applied to the school with the fee waiver, wrote scholarship/fellowship essays. Waitlisted with >75% numbers. Waste of my time essentially.kalvano wrote:Engage them in conversation. Yes, indeed; you should thank them for possibly giving you the opportunity to help them pad their stats.Brock2010 wrote:Anyone respond to emails from deans encouraging you to apply? What if one calls you to have you correct something on your application? I personally couldn't skip my next meeting, but I did feel like I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone the rest of the day.

I wanted to reply to the Boalt dean to ask them to refrain from using Comic Sans in official correspondence.

TBF it's not the dean's fault. The owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers writes all his official correspondence for him.orangebluewhitered wrote:I wanted to reply to the Boalt dean to ask them to refrain from using Comic Sans in official correspondence.

Someone reported your post as "offensive - adult content."NZA wrote:Blowjorb zebra is awesome, indeed.
While I'm not sure that it's either offensive or adult content, per se, perhaps we should get back on topic and take additional discussion of oral and/or zebras to the Lounge.

I wouldn't recommend responding to sTTTalker deans/adcomms.
However, anyone else find these holiday emails to be a heart attack and a half? Love that the schools are thinking of desperate applicants in this holiday season; however, those emails really get my heart racing!
