last 1-2 schools..HELP DECIDE. UVA, Georgetown, U Penn, or..
Northwestern. I am paying out of pocket and as I see the fee get higher and higher I am trying to be more selective. Some stats...
waiting for LSAT, but I suspect 162-167 (crossing my fingers)
GPA 4.04 from UCLA
URM: black/white
Great softs
strong statement
strong letters
I've applied to...
1. yale
2. harvard
3. columbia
4. cornell
5. nyu
6. duke
7. chicago
8. UF
9. Univesity of Iowa (fee waiver)
so now....
1-2 more ...help decide. I guess, which would be most likely to offer money? Which would be more likely to let me in?

Northwestern if you've got some work experience. Btw you should request fee waivers from all of these schools before pulling the trigger. I got fee waivers to all of them and we have similar stats, also I already got into Georgetown so your chances there are pretty decent. Good luck!

Georgetown so you can be in DC and be friends with me.
Seriously, just apply to all of them. You never know what schools will acccept you. Also, some may give you money. Just apply to all of them. Its not a time to be selective.
Good luck!

That's a HUGE range. You can't decide until you have a LSAT pinned down.waiting for LSAT, but I suspect 162-167 (crossing my fingers)

He's URM, so I dunno how that impacts it.nealric wrote:That's a HUGE range. You can't decide until you have a LSAT pinned down.waiting for LSAT, but I suspect 162-167 (crossing my fingers)
Edit: Sorry, I meant to say how much it impacts it, or something along those lines. Obviously there's still a big difference between 162 and 167.

I'm trying to get fee waivers. I just hope that processing time doesn't increase as a result. I wonder if it matters since they have to wait for my score anyway. I am also a female

URM or not, 5 points on the LSAT makes a BIG difference.

not sure...would that also be a good choice? I lived in CA for my whole life so going back isn't so appealing.pinkzeppelin wrote:Why not Stanford?

I would add Stanford, Penn, Boalt, Michigan, UVA, and UCLA. Once you get your score (assuming 162+), email the admissions office of every school on your list and ask for a fee waiver if they haven't already given you one.chrissyc wrote:Northwestern. Well if you don't like the school you don't like the school, but Stanford is by far the right answer to your question. As long as you get any score in the range you named, you have an extremely high likelihood of being accepted to Stanford. Frankly, if you get a 167 you will probably get into Yale. Don't even consider GULC. UVA will probably offer you a full ride so you may want to apply to them after Stanford. In a lot of ways it really doesn't matter whether you get a 162 or higher, you'll get into any school with any score in that listed range.chrissyc wrote:not sure...would that also be a good choice? Stanford in a heartbeat, particularly if you don't plan to practice in California when you graduate. You have the sort of profile that will allow you to pick whatever law school you want to attend (assuming you get a 162+ LSAT).chrissyc wrote:what about between stanford and berkeley? That's not similar at all, but thanks for the input.dissonance1848 wrote:White/Black counts as URM (like AA, NA with tribal affiliations, PA and MA)? Damn, its like all the whites at HYP claiming they are hispanics because they are loaded from Brazil or Argentina, or Black because they are from rich families in South Africa, Nigeria, etc.
