Berkeley/Texas Matching Aid

I got into Berkeley and Duke so far, and I expect to get into Texas.

Let's say hypothetically a top 14 school (other than Northwestern) gives me $25,000 a year. What are the odds Berkeley or Texas would give me matching aid (I realize matching aid need not mean a $25,000 scholarship. It might only mean $20,000 or something.)

My numbers are 171 and 3.8ish.

Generally, what I mean is: Are these matching offers from Berkeley and Texas basically automatic, or are they unlikely, or somewhere in between?

I don't know about crazy California, but, if I recall correctly, Texas isn't big on matching aid. I could be wrong, but I think their offer is their offer.

Texas matches, but they only match for "peer" schools and they take differences in tuition and COL into account.

Go with that. If that's true, Texas has low COL and cheap in-state tuition. So you might be boned.
