No you said that was all of TLS. That's false.

There are two kinds of people I have discovered on this forum. Serious pre-law and law students, and the stereotypical internet kid who might think it would be fun to go to law school at some point. The former would never give such fluffy advice, the latter always will. In my experience, the mix has unfortunately been closer to half and half.

WOOT. Eat that, "peer schools."
(If only that list weren't flatly wrong)
(Thanks for posting, though. I was curious, and a bit miffed when it prompted me to register)

I hope you're joking. (directed at nealric).nealric wrote:Or self selection. If I wanted to go into business I would go to Penn, especially if I could get into Wharton too.
Next to nobody choses Penn over Yale absent a full ride. I don't care what your business interests are. If you want to go into business: YLS -> WLRK -> PE.

I think roughly 50% of HLS and Yale JDs clerk after graduation, which explains why these schools are ranked so low for career prospects.

50% seems wildly over-estimated to me, but it's probably more to do with people who end up doing prestigious PI right out of school.dcpolitico wrote:I think roughly 50% of HLS and Yale JDs clerk after graduation, which explains why these schools are ranked so low for career prospects.

I think I'll just ignore anything that site has to say. It tells you that Yale is a safety for someone with a 174/3.91. (It says it's a safety if you're above both medians... because we know how true that is)

Thought this might be interesting to some of you. Since PR doesn't actually rank all of the schools, Tax Prof Blog used PR's data to construct such a cumulative ranking. Harvard is tied with USC and UC Davis at #21, Yale is tied with Cardozo at #39.

There rankings aren't wrong because USNEWS says they are, they are wrong because they don't match reality.
Go to Yale and ask how many 2L's couldn't find a 2L SA then go compared with Penn. 40% of Penn students will be missing one, and maybe 10 of Yale (probably 0, but maybe a couple people overbid).
USNews really only guides 0L decision making. How many years has Boalt been top 6 or 7? How many years has it placed exactly as well as Cornell?
