Too Late?

Postby Cubyfan21 » Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:55 pm

too late? i applied to about 20 different top 20 schools (4.0/168), and I applied to my reach schools first, thinking i should start with hardest to get into and move to my safety schools later. Now, I am starting to apply to safety and am wondering if I am too late or am I safe if I get them in before Christmas. Also, if I want to apply to some more top 35 do I have a chance this late in cycle?

before christmas is considerded ontime.

after christmas is late.

people on TLS do everything over the top ( that includes lsat prep for 6months to a year- which is a good thing, and applying in september.) A lot of schools just started reviewing RD applications in december. send them out with confidence

You don't need to look below the T14 except for safeties. Even Georgetown is a near safety with your numbers, and you could go as high as Chicago/NYU.

I don't think you really need to apply to any more schools unless you have a hometown school you think you can hit up for a full ride.

you mean you applied to all 20 of the top 20?

don't apply anywhere else, you're already overkilling.

160 and 168 shouldn't change much from if you were just 168 since they're significantly different.

Is there any reason to pay the app fee for HYS? or even columbia? I do come from a very very conservative undergraduate institution that is usually not represented at these schools.

Worth it at Harvard and Stanford but your chances are not good, prepare for a waitlist unless you have really exceptional softs.
Yale isn't happening unless it will help you sleep better to apply.

Your chances at Columbia on down are good, but you will see some waitlists inevitably. If I were you I would apply at #2 on down and hope for the best. Make sure you have a good application package put together.

I've got similar scores, with a 170 and a 3.95. I applied to every school from 4-10 according to the TLS rankings (Berkeley to Virginia). How much worse are my chances having applied yesterday than they would have been if I had applied earlier in the year? I know my scores are good enough, but I really don't know what to expect insofar as acceptance/waitlists given my timing.
