Submitting apps this week- hurting my chances a lot?

I'm still waiting on my LoRs to be submitted, so I don't think I'll be able to submit my apps any earlier than mid-late this week (Dec 1-4 perhaps). How much am I hurting my chances by turning them in this late?

It really depends on your numbers and the schools you're looking at. As long as you're not teetering on the borderline of most schools you should still be alright, but too much longer and your chances start diminishing (especially with processing times possibly running into the holidays). That said, good luck!

FWIW, I've read here on TLS that:

-pre-Thanksgiving is considered early (with TLSers submitting earlier than most other applicants, obvi  )
-pre-Christmas is on time but worse the closer you get to Christmas
-after Christmas is late

That could be wrong, but it sounded good to me!

I've got a 170/3.95 and I'm mostly interested in Michigan. Those numbers should carry me, but I'm terrified that I'm going to submit late and get passed over. I don't want to spend an additional half year/year waiting to go to law school.

PS: Thanks for all the quick, helpful replies. This is one of the most reliable and helpful boards I've ever had the pleasure of using.

I think you should be fine for Michigan. So if that's your biggest worry, just sit back as soon as you're done submitting and join the neurotic threads :D
