Should I Start Applying Before I Even Take the LSATS?

Im taking the LSATs in Dec and I was wondering if I should just start applying ASAP. I know thats fine but the only thing I worry about is if I bomb the test. My testmasters teacher said thats ok because if I do I can email the adcomms and ask them to hold my app until I retake in February if need be. She said the the LSAT scores are the only things you can submit after deadlines. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

btw, it's LSAT, not LSATs, you sound like a total n000000000000000000b
