Should I apply to any more schools?

Postby SHANbangs » Thu Nov 18, 2010 3:12 pm

3.24, 169. I've already applied to the following schools:
GULC PT, FT ED
GW
BU - Fee waiver
BC
Cornell
NW - Fee waiver
Notre Dame - Fee waiver
W&M - Fee waiver
UCLA - Fee waiver
Vandy - Fee waiver
Minn - Fee waiver
UVA

I included the fee waivers just to show that I still have some money in the bank (unlike the girl from a swizz beats song). I'm still looking at Duke, USC, and WUSTL. Would like to practice in D.C. area, but any major market is fine by me. I'm reluctant to do a safety because I'd rather just take another year to work and maybe retake the LSAT and then apply again.

Any other schools that you think I should apply to (with a reasonable chance of getting in?)

What region do you want to work and live in? Hit that region with your applications

Well, I already hit up the D.C/VA area with UVA, GW, GULC, and W & M. Should I also do W & L and American?

I don't think applying to many schools is a bad idea, especially if you have fee waivers. If one school offers you a scholly, even if you don't really plan on going there, you could use that scholly money as leverage for the school that you want to go to by saying "school X gave me $$$, I really want to go to school Y but the biggest drawback is money".

Probably not, UT has a soft floor around 3.4.

Duke and UT are auto-dings and not worth the app money. I'd say add USC (for LA market), otherwise you're looking at safety-level schools which you already said you're not considering.

Sorry to be pessimistic (and my numbers are similar so it'll prob be the same for me), but I don't see you cracking vandy or up. I'd be applying to wustl and a few more t20s and 30s for safety.
