Weight of optional "Why X?" essays

Post by Rgaliana » Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:40 pm

Submitted my application to Penn State without even realizing that they say that students "may" submit a "Why Penn State?" essay. How much weight does this essay carry? Should I bother to submit it separately?

contact penn state tomorrow morning. To be safe, use a different name, and a different phone number, if you are worried. I wouldnt worry about it right now. You will be fine, especially with your numbers

if you have a compelling reason to attend, write one and submit it separately. if you dont and you're just going to regurgitate facts about the school, dont bother and dont worry
