Dec LSAT applications

Postby curly3426 » Mon Nov 15, 2010 11:06 am

HEY

I am taking the Dec LSAT in hopes of not miss bubbling and getting into the school I deserve... that being said, the score I received is good enough for some of my safety schools. 160, 3.76 GPA. I am talking Suffolk, Northeaster, Cordoza p/t. Do I apply to those schools and tell them to not wait for the Dec LSAT... or just wait it out?

Suggestions, opinions, dances, food?

peace

send in the application. Talk to the admissions people and see what their policy is for reviewing applications that have an upcoming lsat. Most will hold off, unless you tell them otherwise.

If you know you will get in right now, send it.

I mean my GPA is well above anything they look for and my LSAT is at median for all schools, if not a little higher....

just wondering if it really matters either way, and if they would look down upon the fact that I am taking it again

nope. a lot of people have re taken the exam. Dont worry about it. If your current numbers are both above the median, then you should be fine. Remember that if you score a lot higher or lower on the december test, you may have to explain yourself. Contact the admissions dept to see how you can include this information after you've submitted the application to help you reach a decision.

at a couple of my safety schools I am almost an auto admit with my current LSAT. I could apply now and say dont worry about my Dec score but I dont feel there is much to gain from it. If I apply with my awesome +170 score I will get in Dec I probably would be in consideration for more scholarship. Especially at my safeties there isnt that much lost between applying mid nov-jan1.

I am in the same boat as you (3.45 163) and retaking in December, I send out a few apps, Fordham PT and UNC, however, ALL OF THE SCHOOLS I CALLED SAID THEY ARE HOLDING MY APP, NO MATTER WHAT, until after my retake. I even asked the guy at UNC not to hold it and he said they don't make decisions until after the December LSAT anyway. The Fordham lady was just nasty to me and said they didn't care if I wanted them to review it, they wanted to see my retake. I hope she knows when I absolutely kill my retake, I will not be attending Fordham.
