How much does GPA trend matter?

How big of a bump is an upward trend?

Specifically, does a 3.78 with a 171 LSAT give me a good shot at Columbia/Berkeley?

Upward trend won't help much beyond your numbers. You're about 30% at Columbia and 20-30% at Berkeley depending on softs.
