Should you include your merit-based scholarship on resume?
If I'm making a resume for law school applications, is it appropriate to include the merit-based scholarship you received prior to enrolling in the "Honors" section?
For example:
"Awarded the XXXX scholarship for $80,000 over 4 years due to academic achievements"
or something similar? Thanks.

I think it's okay if you are at that school using it and its a named scholarship. For example if your 2nd choice UG awarded you a scholarship and you didn't attend, that probably wouldn't be cool to list, and if your scholarship is simply a general scholarship out of the scholarship fund, much the way that law school $$$ works, then it won't have the same effect.

I was leaning toward not doing this, since it's pretty much a high school achievement. The scholly was included in the resume template on TLS's resume section though, so I decided to include mine.

Yeah, my hesitation to include it is basically because, as you said, it's a high school achievement. Granted, you can have it taken away for poor grades, but I'm not sure whether including it is helpful to them or not. It *is* an academic honor in some regardKabuo wrote:I was leaning toward not doing this, since it's pretty much a high school achievement. I figured it couldn't hurt more than my 3.2 LSAC GPA, and it might actually help. You know, if they think the fact that I had good grades in HS combined with a good LSAT means I can be a good law student after all.

I think I'm going to throw mine on there, mainly because it is a "renewable" scholarship contingent on GPA (A/A- average). In the sense that it's renewable, it was more like four scholarships at x amount rather than one at full amount.
