Go ahead an add 3.61/173 to the "didn't get one" column. I REALLY want that waiver...

3.8/174 no waiver. Last cycle with a slightly lower GPA and a 170 waiver. I think they feel that alot of mid 170s 3.8-3.9 will apply anyway because for such stats Columbia makes for a perfect target.

Does anybody know if Columbia is one of those schools that will reimburse the fee if they grant you a waiver after you've applied? Given the emails some of us have received stating that they will email us directly if they wish to offer a waiver, should we assume that we won't be getting any post-submission waivers (since they do personal emails, not CRS sweeps)? My reply from Chicago said they'd reimburse the fee if I got a waiver down the line, so I'm planning on sending my app and paying the fee, hoping to be paid back later.

3.88 with 170 high LSAT: did not receive. Previous LSATs of 162 and 165. White male.

I'm also wondering this, but I feel like they don't. Chicago is the only school I've seen so far that openly says they will reimburse. I just applied for a need-based fee waiver (since they won't give me a freaking merit one) and they told me to NOT apply UNTIL I get a response, meaning that they probably can't reimburse. Bummer. :(

I took the October LSAT but I just registered for CRS the other day. Any chance of still receiving a Columbia waiver? I requested one by email and they said they don't do it by request.

Yea they don't, but they haven't done their CRS round after the October LSAT yet.

I got that exact email last year (176/3.28).

I just got a fee waiver via email this afternoon, which was apparently based on my LSAT score alone (170). It also specifies that it only applies to those who have not yet submitted their application to Columbia, so I'm guessing that they won't reimburse you if you receive a waiver after you've already submitted and paid the application fee.

I live in NYC and got the fee waiver today as well. So my Columbia notifications came like this: response to my need-based fee waiver request (approved), hidden fee waiver on LSAC, Columbia email hours later telling me I got a fee waiver on LSAC. -_-

Two friends from last year whose results pour further fuel on the fire of confusion:

173/3.6 = fee waiver
170/3.9 = no waiver

I think the whole thing is terribly baffling. I think I wouldn't apply sans waiver out of principle, it's just bizarre.
